12/22/2022 League Enrollment Update

Four of the six leagues offered beginning January 4, 2023 are sold out

There are currently 3 seats remaining in Thursday Beginner League (22434) at 8:00 and 11 seats in the Thursday Advanced Beginner League (22404) a t 11:30.

Original League Information

The growth of pickleball leagues at Oak Brook has been phenomenal over the past several years.

This past season was no exception with many people having to be “wait listed.”

In addition, a group of people approached the park district asking for a new “advanced beginner” league.

Of course, this new league also “sold out.”

This new league was held on Tuesday mornings. Unfortunately, to accommodate the “new advanced beginner” league the Tuesday Morning Open Session had to be cancelled.

The Tuesday morning open session was one of the most popular open sessions, so its cancellation was a disappointment to many people.

So, in the hopes of accommodating more people for this coming Winter season, there have been some changes made to the PB schedule.

To restore the Tuesday Open Session, the Advanced Beginner League has been moved to Wednesday at a new time.

Other notable changes include leagues being confined to two days and the creation of 3 – 15 person leagues in addition to the already existing 3 – 30 person leagues. These changes increase the total number of league seats from 90 players in 3 leagues to 135 players in 6 leagues.

The three smaller leagues offer a unique opportunity for creating smaller, more intimate leagues.
